Savory Crushed-Blueberry Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries - thawed
- 2/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel/zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh herb (basil, thyme, rosemary
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
Combine 1 1/2 cups blueberries and all remaining ingredients in medium saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a simmer.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the blueberries are soft and liquid is syrupy.
Remove from heat; add the remaining blueberries and herbs.
Using the back of the spoon, gently press the fresh blueberries against side of pan until lightly crushed.
