Brown Rice Pilaf - Baked
Ingredients
- 2 Tbl butter
- 1 apple - finely chopped
- 1 cup brown rice
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth - water will work
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon*** - you can substitute nutmeg, allspice, or anise if you can.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the apple until its tender and light golden in color.
Add the rice and sauté, stirring for three minutes.
Add the chicken broth/water and bring to a boil.
Stir in the salt and cinnamon.
Cover and bake for 1 hour, until rice is tender.
